I am very happy with my purchase. I am a beginner level Movie Maker and this product is perfect for me. It is small, lightweight and easy to use. I used it at school when we recorded our presentations and it was was so easy to use. So when it's time to buy a camera for my own films, this was my first choice! Really! Of course, if I buy a camera with more features and gadgets that in the future, I will. But until then, this is perfect. Well, I hope that never buysthese cameras is so convinced that I am. If this is your first camera, you're in trouble. Because, yes, the manual is very limited, and it has many advanced features. However, this device was not made for any new entrant into the market. Although this camcorder is equipped with functions, there is no software to download videos. Windows can not even recognize the device as a recording unit, except for uploading photos again, the only software that comes with the product. For this you can simply buy a digital camera. I was so excited, how about a camcorder business to find the product usually produces excellent products. This is the exception. I spent time video recording in interior lighting for a "Jam". I downloaded my video, and was shocked by the terrible quality.

I was not expecting much, and the average light inside, but it was much worse than I thought. Everything seemed like it was out, a subject that has nothing to do with lighting tense. If you use the device near water to get on a boat and water, he expected to malfunction. Not using a DVX100, professionals. I'm all commentators that the sound is not much agreement. It is not super sensitive, so you lose the sound, if it is not close enough to the object. If you are interested in good audio, I would say an optional microphone. If you just want great video, amazing color and ease of use, it is your camera. For the price (in addition to reimbursement) you reallynot beating.

I have this camera for several years now in possession. It takes videos and digital video out, I can get on my computer with Ubuntu Linux. My main complaint is that the screen to count on me after about a month to own it, thank God for the High in the viewfinder of the old school. The video quality is very bad it's good for some as a camera base.

I bought this camera when it first came out. This is not a bad camera by any means, for the price. But I have problems connecting to a computer via FireWire. I tried two different computers and detect the camera either. I spent many hours, literally, trying to find the problem. Internet search high and low. But no luck. I even bought a FireWire cable and thirty dollars U.S. just to see if I need each other. I cracked and finally called Panasonic Technical Support. Gentlemenspent about five minutes to talk with me ten. He told me that they would eventually build a case and back to me within a week or two. I've never heard of him. I just love the camera, other than that. It is lightweight, easy to use. I have a good use out of it. I recently bought a new camera well (Canon HV30), Panasonic PV-GS19 and gave me with my niece. She loves him. So if you're looking for a camera or a camera basic home-starter looking for a child, that's all. You can purchase the imaging softwarethat with an adapter (which you plug the AV cable and it plugs into the computer), so you can edit your videos. This is what I finally did.

This camcorder has many features and can be used in many conditions on the demand for everyday use. This camcorder second I have in this area was and am very happy with it. The only negative thing is the functionality of low-resolution camera, it is 3.1 MP. Is also a great buy with good clarity, saturation, and optical zoom capabilities.

I was looking forward to this device class for the first video of our new son. Unfortunately, the camera tape mechanism gone after the first 4 months and I had to return the unit in Illinois to be repaired, and also obtained the tape from the camera. The camera was 6 weeks. The aircraft was refurbished approx. 6 more months, they sent back and this time it cost me $ 168 to have it restored. Now, after a few months, the camera shows a white screen LCDdoes not work at all.
Time to give up Panasonic. Their customer service is not seen before and always repaired the camera seems a waste of time.

After I recharge the battery and plug it into your camcorder, turn the camera, and it was in pause mode, set could not understand how to make the camcorder work with the instructions of, I informed the seller and she promised she would be back to me after watching it. Since you have much time for a small HD camcorder prices, features the same manual, I'm used to my DSLR, I was pleased to see the HPX 170, because it is very well organized controls at a price offers much lower than for cameras in its class. The HPX-170 P2 Cut workflow seamlessly with my MacBook Pro with Final. The cameraitself is a solid build, and it is good to work for long walks. The onboard microphone is not spectacular, but it's better than I've ever met. The lens offers a spectacular building depth, and a field very good wide-angle view. For fans of shallow adapter of 35 mm is probably still a must, but as you see in the video to see the results DoF camera is very good "on their own, as an increase in all the way to 51mm. All in all, this awardLevel 170 HPX is pretty hard to beat, as its full manual control and well managed P2 workflow.
